Official Mission Statement
The Oklahoma Judo Association exists to develop, support, and unite the judo community across Oklahoma by promoting athlete development, coach education, ethical competition, and lifelong participation in the sport of judo. We are committed to building a strong, inclusive, and sustainable judo ecosystem that serves athletes, clubs, officials, and communities at every level.
Purpose
The Oklahoma Judo Association (OJA) is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and ethical environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct establishes expectations for behavior and professionalism at all OJA-sanctioned activities.
Scope
This Code applies to athletes, coaches, officials, club administrators, volunteers, parents, spectators, and board members.
Uphold Respect and Sportsmanship
Treat all participants with dignity and respect. Demonstrate good sportsmanship and refrain from abusive or unsportsmanlike behavior.
Promote Athlete Safety and Well-Being
Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of participants. Follow safety rules and never engage in abuse, neglect, or harassment.
Act with Integrity
Compete honestly, adhere to the rules of judo, and respect officials’ decisions.
Maintain Professional Conduct
Serve as role models, address concerns through appropriate channels, and avoid public confrontations or disruptive conduct.
Support an Inclusive Environment
Foster an environment free from discrimination and provide equal opportunity for all participants.
Protect the Reputation of Judo and OJA
Conduct oneself in a manner that reflects positively on judo and the Oklahoma Judo Association.
Prohibited Conduct
Physical or verbal abuse, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, retaliation, substance abuse at events, or deliberate disruption are prohibited.
Reporting and Enforcement
Violations may be reported to the OJA Board and will be reviewed confidentially.
Disciplinary Actions
Disciplinary measures may include warnings, suspension, removal from roles, or expulsion depending on severity.
Acknowledgment
Participation in OJA activities constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of this Code of Conduct.

Social Media Policy
Official Mission Statement
The Oklahoma Judo Association exists to develop, support, and unite the judo community across Oklahoma by promoting athlete development, coaching education, ethical competition, and lifelong participation in the sport of judo. We are committed to building a strong, inclusive, and sustainable judo ecosystem that serves athletes, clubs, officials, and communities at every level.
1. Purpose
The Oklahoma Judo Association (OJA) recognizes social media as an important platform for communication, promotion, and community engagement. This policy establishes clear expectations for respectful, responsible, and ethical use of social media by individuals participating in or associated with OJA.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all individuals involved in OJA activities, including athletes, coaches, officials, club administrators, volunteers, parents, spectators, and board members. It applies to social media activity directly or indirectly related to OJA events, programs, decisions, affiliated clubs, or use of OJA branding.
3. General Expectations
All individuals are expected to communicate respectfully, exercise good judgment, and understand that online conduct may impact participation in OJA activities.
4. Official OJA Accounts
Only individuals authorized by the OJA Board may post on official OJA social media accounts. Content must remain professional, accurate, and aligned with OJA objectives.
5. Personal Social Media Accounts
Individuals shall avoid presenting personal opinions as official OJA positions and shall not imply endorsement by OJA without authorization.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, defamatory statements, disclosure of confidential information, retaliation, or encouragement of unsafe behavior are prohibited.
7. Disputes and Grievances
Concerns related to OJA matters should be addressed through appropriate internal channels rather than public social media disputes.
8. Youth Protection and Privacy
Private messaging with minors is prohibited unless a parent or guardian is included. Posting images or identifying information of minors requires appropriate consent.
9. Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal requests, warnings, suspension, or restriction from participation in OJA activities.
10. Freedom of Expression
This policy does not restrict lawful expression but addresses conduct that jeopardizes athlete safety, organizational integrity, or operations.
11. Acknowledgment
Participation in OJA activities constitutes acknowledgment and agreement to comply with this policy.
12. Adoption
This policy is adopted by the Oklahoma Judo Association Board of Directors and is effective upon approval.
